|Hello everyone and thank you for stopping by! For those of you who are unfamiliar with me, allow me to give you a little insight about "Stacy Simons." I picked up my first weight at the age of six, by emulating my father as he worked out in our basement. Being an only child, my parents kept me well rounded in many activities. Among these were dance, gymnastics, and music. At first, my passion was dance and gymnastics. In fact, I went so far as to get accepted into the Philadelphia Dance Company. At this point, I realized that my real passion was gymnastics. I continued to stick with it for eight years and also had the opportunity to move to Texas to train with Bela Karolyi. This too, I declined in order to enjoy my childhood.
As I entered high school, I participated in track, soccer, softball, cheerleading, field hockey, and one and three meter springboard diving. My interest in spring board diving enabled me to compete throughout high school and college. After graduating with my BA in Art/Graphic Design, from Glassboro State, I still longed to be competitive in something.
One day, I spotted a poster for a fitness competition in my gym. I decided to give it a shot since I had a background in dance and gymnastics. I had no idea what went into a competition. In fact, I sported "farmer's tan", performed a 60 second routine, and ...quarter turns? What are those? Needless to say, I had a blast and I was hooked. Throughout the next year, I sought the help of John Kemper, and my close friend (and mentor) Dennis Kirby. In '97, I placed 3rd in the NPC Nationals, thus earning my pro card. I thank God for all my accomplishments and I am grateful for the support of my family and friends! I welcome all challenges, and it is my goal to share what I have gained throughout the years with everyone! So buckle up and enjoy the journey!
